I recently completed my doctorate in Modern British History at the University of Sussex. I have an MA and First Class Honours Degree in History as well as A-levels in English Literature, Philosophy and Sociology, all A grades.
Experience
During my studies I have worked part-time as a GCSE, A-level and undergraduate tutor, mainly covering English Literature, History, Sociology and Philosophy. I am happy to take sessions for both small groups and individual pupils, and tend to structure learning around the analysis of key texts. I like to encourage a well-structured yet relaxed and supportive working environment, enabling pupils to feel confident and comfortable. I am also happy to focus more specifically on essay writing skills if required, as I am an experienced freelance writer, proof-reader and editor. In 2019 I published my first book, Singleness in Britain, 1960-1990, which I adapted from my doctoral thesis, and I am currently editing a fashion history anthology for Vernon Press.
